Home blood pressure as awareness

Updated 23 August 2026 · Wellness education, not medical advice

This article is for general wellness education. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Camera readings in Cardivo are estimates. If you feel unwell or think you are having an emergency, contact emergency services and a clinician.

Blood pressure is the force of blood against artery walls. Home tracking is useful when it is repeatable and honest: same arm, seated, back supported, feet on the floor, after a few quiet minutes. Public charts from the American Heart Association are educational categories, not a diagnosis of hypertension from a single home value.

Camera estimates vs a cuff

Cardivo can show a camera-based blood pressure estimate next to heart rate. That estimate is a wellness figure. It is not a replacement for a clinically validated upper-arm cuff. If your clinician asked you to log pressure, use the device they recommended and bring those numbers to the visit.

Habits that keep logs usable

What not to do

Do not chase every spike with another reading in a panic. Do not change prescribed medicine because an app looked high or low. Do not ignore symptoms: severe headache, chest pain, confusion, or sudden weakness need emergency services, not another log entry.

Cardivo is an iPhone wellness app for heart rate, pulse, blood pressure, and blood sugar notes. Download on the App Store.
